But, yesterday on their Facebook page, they announced their upcoming Lovecraftian anthology, A LONELY AND CURIOUS COUNTRY.
I have a story in the anthology!
As explained on their submission page, the title comes from "The Dunwich Horror";
“When a traveler in north central Massachusetts takes the wrong fork at the junction of Aylesbury pike just beyond Dean's Corners he comes upon a lonely and curious country."
This is a general Lovecraftian anthology as opposed to something specific, like say, an Innsmouth anthology. I look forward to reading all the tales.
I'm very excited to be in some great company in this table-of-contents!

Looking forward to it Paul. And those are some great titles too. (I'm a sucker for great titles) I especially want to know what the Third Oath of Dagon is and what is Down by the Highway Side?
ReplyDeleteI took the page from Karl Edward Wagner - "Down By The Highway Side" is a song lyric snippet - from Robert Johnson. I'll let your imagination stew on that for now. ;)
DeleteCongratulations!. I'll pick this one up. I'm looking forward to reading your story. As David said, your title is intriguing. Was this the story you mentioned in your last post, or was that a different story?
ReplyDeleteThe title that really caught my eye was "Turn on, Tune in, Infiltrate". Sounds psychedelic. I think combining Lovecraft with the psychedelic 60s is an untapped source of some good fiction. But then I'm old enough to remember some of the fallout of the 60s in the early 70s, including the quote that seems to have inspired that title.
Thanks.
DeleteThis is the story I mentioned in my NECON post.
The story you alpha read for me I am still waiting to hear back about. Seeing as how Ulthar are doing both books, the other one might be waiting until this gets out. They were trying to have both ready for NecronomiCON but I'd bet the priority is on this anthology because of target audience. (that's all conjecture on my part)
Ulthar Press looks like an interesting outfit. I'll have to keep a close eye on them. I'd like to get in on the action the next time they open a project for submissions.
ReplyDeleteSounds like some good stuff.
